Poetry I wrote this piece specificaly to the sounds of Charles Mingus's Haitian Fight Song while making an attempt to capture what I was hearing into this poem. One of my favorite Mingus tunes and my loving tribute to King Charles himself.

Buffalo This is Part 1 of an unknown numbered series that goes into some depth about who the Buffalo are.
The first part deals mainly with the formation and activities held in the past.

I would like to make it clear that this is how I remember these events taking place. I may have left some things or people out, but essentially it is all there. Please send any comments or corrections to me so the appropriate changes can be made.

This is not the finalized document! In fact I would like to say that this body of text is living, meaning it can change as new light is shed onto different areas (ex: names of artists and films showed at the first Buffalo Readings). Also I would encourage all of the other Buffalo to create a living text that weaves in and out of this starting point. Tell your own story because it is part of the history.

Poetry Stand stand stand stand
stand stand stand stan
Clap clap clap clap
clap clap clap clap
lick huff snort and drool
and to the free world goes
to you
The bobbing head snaps
and sneers unknowing
how drool grows gardens
twisted below and
times used to be
in years brightway
dreams black and white
faces behind glasses
magazines. Saying
America the Free Home
of the Slave
Take out smokes
take our beer
it does a body
advertising
smile bright white
silhouette theres some
that remember
but most that forget
The Dream is about LIFE
NOT OIL for all
keep cheap overseas
arms of all nations
and dictatorship religion
becomes the life of
the dreamer.
In REALITY exists
a moments mind
a fearful shivering
huddled naked child
peeking and poking
at times eternal time
light shots in the dark
hungry and bitter
Just pay em all
they'll come around
Let'em drink piss water
and eat flies from their
eye sockets
letem rain disease virus
blood boil old stones
believe their stories
wade through industrial waste
clothe themselves in
Boxes
Look at em, Ah ha, just look at em there
trying to join their bodies together
into a giant flesh fist fifty stories high
look at em, bleeding as natives
bodies are bent in half in the crooks of the joints
Life is about the good life cheap
for all beings
life is about the future not the past
Grab the cheap gas before
the poor people knew it was us.

Poetry On this gray day, I thought I'd contribute a piece from last year that I wrote while sitting on my sofa staring lazily out my apartment's living room window on the first nice day of Spring. The first few days of Spring always have been my favorite days of the year - you can just taste it on the air and feel it against your cheek.

Oh yeah, and
